SWAYAMBHUNATH : A 2500 years old site where, it is believed, the Radiant Lotus of valley mythology settled when the water was drained by Manjushri, the God of Wisdom. The 5 dhyani Buddhas attended by their consorts are enshrined at the base of the stupa. Also visit the adjoining Museum (closed on Tuesdays). Afternoon tour of Patan visiting the Old Newar City, and the historic Durbar Square. See the golden Gate, the sky piercing temple of Teleju and the statue of Yogendra Malla among other temples. Walk through streets lined with old windows, carved balconies of wood, curio shops and bazaars.

Day: 03 | Kathmandu PASHUPATINATH : The Varanasi of Nepal is the most revered shrine of Shiva sited on the banks of the sacred Bagmati. While non Hindus are not permitted inside the temple precincts- a walk in the environs is a richly rewarding experience of colour and custom.
BODHNATH : This collosal Stupa is one of the largest in the world. The Stupa has the all seeing-eyes of the Lord Buddha. It was built by king Mana Deva in expiation of his sins in the 5th century A.D. on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
